The Radiant shape has 70 facets and is know for it cropped corners. Designed to not sacrifice any of the brilliance of a round it is often rectangular in shape but can sometimes be square, the cut has the elegance of an emerald with the brilliance of a round shape. The original radiant was created by WWII survivor, Henry Gossbard in 1977.
The signature look of this diamond is in its trimmed edges, which make this cut diamond a popular and versatile choice for any kind of jewellery. Radiant cut diamonds can vary in their degree of rectangularity. To find the dimension of radiant you want, look at the length-to-width ratio. For a radiant diamond shape that is square, look for length-to-width ratios between 1 and 1.05. Alternatively, if you prefer a more rectangular shape, look for length-to-width ratios greater than 1.10.
